MY JOURNEY TO SELF-LOVE

The paintings are inspired by realising that I can be full up with love all by myself, without seeking validation from others. You will sense the power of awareness I embraced and embodied, which led me from a place where I thought it was wrong to love myself, even selfish, to a place where light shines so brightly within.
You can witness how this consciousness grew, changed and progressed as you view the paintings. I rose from some dark places, healing and nourishing my values with great intention. An inner balanced faith through which I could choose who I want to be and be safe in my own mind and body.
I ultimately accepted that you cannot change what you refuse to confront; therefore, it was only I who could save myself. In turn, as I started living in my divine, authentic truth, being who I truly am, who I came here to be. I learnt the beautiful truth that I had overflowing love within me.
Had I never done this work, I would never have woken up. I would have remained unconscious, thinking I could only feel this depth of love if someone were in love with me. I am very grateful I finally formed a healthy relationship with my own heart. It was, and is, transformative; I thank God for the wisdom.
Anna Nightingale (b1974) graduated with a BA Hons degree in fine art painting from Central St. Martin’s (UCL) London in 1997 and has worked as a full-time artist and Director of Intimate Life Drawing events ever since. Anna has exhibited around the globe, with 19 solo shows and 31 group shows. Her paintings hang in the conference rooms of the British Embassy, Malta, PWC Malta, Vodafone head office, Malta and Italy and many private collections in England, Malta, America and Dubai. The Ivy, West St, London, has two of Anna’s paintings,s making her one of the Caprice collection of Artists. Anna is a predominantly abstract expressionist painter who spends her time between Luxembourg and Malta with her son, James, 13, and her rescue dog, Roxy.
